Pony Express Parts Delivery

Today my husband Tim and I are picking up the first parts for Mothership.  Since John’s Mustang in Houston, Texas is on our way to Louisiana we decided to skip paying the freight charges to ship our parts and just pick them up and deliver them ourselves.  And, let’s face it…I’m super pumped about this and just wanted to be there when the first parts arrived.  I know it’s kinda crazy, but as they say I have definitely caught Mustang fever!

We haven’t even tore any of the car down yet, but we have the first load of new for her. We, And by “we” I mean Tim, Brian and Heath while I take pics, are going to get the car stripped down this weekend and get it ready for it to be sand blasted and start the metal repairs.

My 1967 Ford Mustang

Thanks for joining me!

“Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.” – Henry Ford

Welcome to my very first blog post.  I decided that the restoration of my 1967 Ford Mustang, aka Mothership, was worthy of a place that anyone could come and see all of the blood, sweat and tears that bring this beauty back to life.

Growing up and traveling to Louisiana to visit family I always remember my cousins on my Dad’s side of the family working on cars, not just cars but old Mustangs.  Since then I have dreamt of owning a classic Mustang that was restored by my cousins.  Well, my dream is finally coming true.  I honestly don’t think that those guys really know how much this car means to me.  No matter how big or small of a contribution they are able to make they have made me extremely ecstatic.  I know that they can’t all actually do hands on work on this restore but the knowledge, ideas and their excitement to see this car start it’s journey to being back on the road again is priceless.

Mothership, has lived the last 30+ years in the woods behind my cousins house just waiting for me to release it from it’s wooded stall.  On Friday, March 30th, we did just that.  This pony has now been moved to my cousins shop in Minden, LA where she has been groomed and is patiently waiting for her makeover.

Please leave a comment and check back to see the updates of Mothership.
